It is quite annoying when keep on receiving a bounced back error message saying that your email has been rejected or unable to reach the recipient. Of course there are allot of reason which I would suggest you to read on the bounced back message to understand the problem.
In this topic, I’m going to discuss on the bounced back due to the sender IP address being listed under SORBS database. If you would like to check whether your IP address is clean in major (almost all) spam database, please refer the link below:-
http://mxtoolbox.com/blacklists.aspx
SORBS is stands for “Spam and Open Relay Blocking System”. To verify whether your IP address has been listed in their database, you may enter your Email server IP address or your Internet IP address in the URL below:-
http://www.sorbs.net/lookup.shtml
When you identified that your IP address has been listed, you may request for de-list via the URL below:-
http://www.sorbs.net/cgi-bin/support
Some notes:-
1. You need to register and click on the link which has been sent to your email address for verification.
2. Login again to link above, read through their FAQ and click on ‘Proceed (Show this again)’.
3. You need to install security certificate in your browser. If you received something like ‘Software error..’, try to use Mozilla firefox.
4. There are 3 options, choose the ‘submit ticket’, it works for me.
5. Enter the details and short message on what you had done to improve your email security.
6. Submit the ticket and wait for their reply.
Alternatively, you may just request the recipient to add your email address as trusted sender (whitelist) in their Spam filter. This can stop the hassle and guarantee that future email will always received to their Inbox.
Hope the above helps. Please leave a comment below if you have any experience or thing you would like to discuss about this topic. Thank you.
